Roof & Building Thermal Inspection
Thermal and visual inspection of roofs and building envelopes, without putting anyone at height.

The operational need
Energy and infrastructure inspection is rarely limited by willingness. It is limited by access, by downtime, and by what it costs to put a person somewhere hazardous.
Getting eyes on a stack, a roof or an elevated run often means scaffolding, a lift, or taking the asset out of service to do it safely.
Tanks, vessels and enclosed structures carry confined-space risk, and every entry brings permits, watch personnel and time.
Heat signatures that indicate a failing joint or a wet insulation layer simply do not show in an ordinary photograph.
Inspections captured differently each cycle cannot be compared, so deterioration is argued from memory rather than evidence.
Available services
Thermal and visual inspection of roofs and building envelopes, without putting anyone at height.
Certified operations in urban areas, controlled airspace and close to aerodromes.
Transport Canada Advanced certification covers the environments these assets sit in — controlled airspace, built-up areas and close proximity to aerodromes and helipads.
Thermal and RGB capture flown to an agreed brief, so a heat signature is recorded alongside the visual context needed to interpret it. Returned as a documented set with the capture parameters noted.
Aerial support for oil and gas sites, an established part of Caswell Aviation’s work — site documentation, asset condition and access to areas that are slow or unsafe to reach on foot.
An emerging capability for enclosed assets such as fuel tanks and sewer systems, where signal is limited. Tethered aircraft with gyroscopic stabilisation, thermal cameras and onboard LED lighting return real-time visual data without a person entering the space.
Airspace, permissions and site safety are handled before anyone arrives, and operations can run day or night depending on what the asset requires.
