01Who we are

Caswell Aviation Ltd operates this website and the drone services described on it. We are based in Calgary, AB, Canada, and we handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

02What we collect, and why

We collect only what we need to answer you and to deliver work you ask us for.

• Enquiry details you type into the contact form — your name, email address, and optionally your company, phone number, the service you are asking about, and the message itself. We use these to reply to you and to prepare a quote.
• Technical records created automatically when you visit — your browser type, the pages requested, and a truncated network address held in server logs. We use these to keep the site working and to investigate abuse.
• Aggregate usage statistics, where analytics are enabled. These count page views and enquiries; they do not identify you and do not follow you across other websites.

03What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We do not add you to a mailing list because you sent an enquiry. Marketing email, if we ever send any, will be something you asked for and can stop at any time.
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party profiling cookies.

04Cookies and similar storage

The public pages of this site set no advertising or tracking cookies. Two small pieces of storage exist for the site to work: a preference remembering light or dark appearance, and — only if you sign in to the administration area — a session cookie that keeps you signed in. Analytics, where enabled, are cookie-free and count visits rather than people.

05Aerial imagery captured during work

Flight operations may capture photographs or video of a client site, which can incidentally include people, vehicles or neighbouring property. Imagery is captured for the purpose the client engaged us for, is shared with that client, and is not published or supplied to anyone else without permission. Flights are conducted under Transport Canada Remotely Piloted Aircraft System rules.

06Who else sees your information

Your enquiry is stored on our own site infrastructure and emailed to us. Two categories of supplier are necessarily involved: the company hosting the website and its backups, and the service delivering our email. Both act on our instructions and only for those purposes. We do not otherwise disclose your information, except where the law requires it.

07How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while they are live and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can pick up a conversation you started and meet our record-keeping obligations. Backups are kept on a rolling schedule and expire automatically. When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was given for, it is deleted or anonymised.

08How it is protected

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiry records requires an administrator account with a password and, wherever available, a second factor. Backups are held separately from the live site so that a failure of one does not destroy the other.

09Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to caswellaviation@shaw.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may raise the matter with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10Changes to this policy

We update this page when the way we handle information changes. The date above is the last substantive revision; material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
